2. Manual juicer

It is again a simple equipment, consisting of a vacuum base that helps it lock on the surface, the main juicer and waste collector. There is provision to press in the fruits and vegetables with a top on it. These machines are cheap, available at a price range of Rs.200 – Rs.500. They come in trendy colors and most importantly are easy to detach and wash.

The main drawback is that there has to be a lot of manual pressure applied, to extract the juice. It may not be used for hard vegetables. User needs to cut the fruits & vegetables into small pieces to be able to extract the juice.

3. Electric Juicers

These started off as the evolved version of manual juicers and are electrical in nature. The popular juicers kitchen gadget in this category are electrical Citrus press juicers, Juicer jars with Mixie, Centrifugal Juicers, Cold press juicers, Electric blender bottle, Electric Fruit Juicer, and more recent USB run portable juicers cum blenders.

They have a large spacious jar for placing fruits and vegetables, separate containers for the fruit pulp and the juice. They have a good strong motor of about 500W & above. They are available at a starting price range of about Rs2000.

The drawback is that they are bulky and occupy space & expensive when compared to other options available in the market now.

5. Cold Press Juicer

Cold press juicers are the perhaps the most exhaustive juicer equipments available in the market. They claim to extract the maximum juice out of each fruit or vegetable. The juice extracted can be stored for upto 2 weeks as well.

6. Traditional Juicer

Traditional juicers have fast sharp spinning blades that tear the fruits and vegetables and then extract juice. Unfortunately, essential nutrients are lost during this tearing process. The heat generated during this process also kills the essential nutrients. Cold press juicers do not slice or tear the fruits and vegetables, instead they press and grind fruits and vegetables without generating any heat.

There is a lot of pressure used while extracting & harmful bacteria gets killed during this process. Hence the food gets preserved better and safer using this high pressure technology. Therefore, the juice extract is retaining more nutrition from each fruit and vegetable used. Also most of these juicers do not make noise. They are available with a starting price range of Rs. 8500 onwards.

The drawback is that they are expensive & is not affordable to everyone. The machine is a bit bulky with multiple parts. The cleaning may not be completely easy and convenient.
